QB2 adjustable shelving is one of the most versatile shelving systems available. Complete adaptability is just one benefit derived from a wide range of standard and specialist accessories. A comprehensive choice of bay sizes together with single and multi-tier options ensures maximum volume utilisation. QB2 excels in busy environments such as motor parts storage where flexibility is paramount. In the more sedate world of libraries, education and museums, the need for high density storage and individual accessibility is addressed by QB2 mounted onto mobile bases.
Shelves are supported on unique shelf carrier bars that are adjustable on 25mm centres. Shelves can be positioned to suit the products being stored with a minimum of wasted space and then, if required, easily and quickly relocated. Shelves and dividers have a 'safe edge' to the front and rear edges so that operatives are protected when working with the system which means that operatives work more efficiently in a safe environment. QB2 is supported by an extensive range of readily available, interchangeable accessories:- garment rails, bin fronts, louvred panels, part height and full
height dividers, drawers and doors.
The facility to span two 900mm wide bays is one of the major design features of the Xtraspan beam. In a high bay or multi-tier configuration short span shelving at the lower level can be spanned with Xtraspan at a higher level, a simple means of achieving bulk storage and individual product selection within the same system. Utilising the standard QB2 framework Xtraspan beams can be incorporated into a conventional short-span shelving layout or used as a very cost effective wide access system.
When used in conjunction with QB2 shelving, louvred back panels and louvred panel end frames make optimum use of the available storage capacity. Consider using Metabins on shelves for a cost-effective shelving / bin combination. The profiled tab prevents the container from being accidentally pulled off the shelf.

Shelving for a wide range of applications
Speedrax HD All Purpose Shelving is a wide access shelving system that offers the facility of chipboard shelves on spans from 1500mm to 2400mm. Uprights are produced from cold rolled 2mm steel strip to BS 1449. The unequal upright profile measures 42mm x 55mm. The 40mm slot pattern for beam and side brace connection is accessed from the reverse side of the upright, allowing adjustment when bays are joined together.
The main components of Speedrax HD are posts, beams and side braces (which locate on the frames by means of a simple but secure and effective connector), beam ties and chipboard shelves. The maximum bay load for Speedax HD is a massive 4250kg with beams at 1000mm centres and a maximum shelf load of 700kg (uniformly distributed load) for a 1500mm wide bay.
Speedrax MD is the short span option with bay widths of 900mm and 1200mm comprising posts, beams, side beams and chipboard shelves. Both widths have exceedingly high shelf and bay loadings. The maximum bay load for Speedax MD is an impressive 3000kg with beams at 1000mm centres and a maximum shelf load of 350kg (uniformly distributed load) for a 1200mm wide bay and 375kg (uniformly distributed load) for a 900mm wide bay.

Benching
Speedrax HD and MD All Purpose Shelving are equally useful as an economically priced bench system. A wide range of styles and sizes are available suitable for use in packing departments, workshops and assembly areas.
Combi-Stor
Speedrax Combi-Stor is a successful interface between short-span MD shelving and Metabin Stack & Store containers. The unit comprises a 2080mm x 1200mm x 450mm bay with six shelves and 15 No. 32 ltr containers measuring 485mm x 360mm x 250mm. Ideal for schools, hospitals and sports clubs; in fact they are invaluable in most storage areas.
Galvanised
For the storage of paints, chemicals and liquids in general, Speedrax MD with galvanised steel shelves is the most appropriate option. Shelves can be inverted so that each storage level has an upstand on all four sides. The maximum bay load for Speedax MD with galvanised shelves is 2000kg with a maximum shelf load of 125kg (uniformly distributed load).
Garment Hanging
A simple but ingenious solution for the storage of flat-pack and hanging garments. The base shelf is a standard chipboard shelf for boxed items, the hanging rails are simply inverted beams. Beams can be returned to conventional orientation and used with chipboard shelves. The ratio of hanging levels to flat shelf levels is infinitely variable; as stock levels fluctuate, so can the shelving.

Metabolt adjustable shelving, based on the original BS826:1955 specification has remained one of the most popular shelving systems since it was originally introduced. The benefits of a robust construction and adaptability combine together in a flexible system created to address the needs of industrial and commercial storage. Simple runs of Metabolt can be easily extended and enhanced with a wide range of accessories. Complex single and multi-tiered installations can be designed to maximise the available space of even the most awkward shaped buildings, whilst Metabolt on mobile bases offers maximum space utilisation and selectivity.
Metabolt can be constructed as a multi-tier system with walkways supported by the shelving. Making the maximum use of the available headroom is both cost effective and efficient. A multi-tier option provides a high-density storage facility with the added benefit of unrestricted picking faces. Typically, the walkways would be either expanded steel or a wood derivative with steel stairs to access the second level. Lighting would be suspended below the floor to illuminate the lower level and smoke / fire detectors would also be fitted.
A wide range of accessories converts a simple bay of Metabolt into a comprehensive shelving system. Dividers, bin fronts, doors and shelf trays can be included when the system is initially built or retrofitted as the need arises. Metabin containers can also be used with the added benefit of colour identification and product classification. In addition to the static examples shown here, Metabolt can be mounted onto mobile bases to provide a saving in floor space or alternatively an increase in storage capacity.
